About Me

The story of how I went from Paraguay's piano boy to Kansas' piano man.

Paraguayan Heart

I was born in the capital of Paraguay, Asunción, which is located in the middle of South America. From the time I remember, I was always surrounded by music that my dad would play either on the radio or record player. Paraguay is a very musical country, and was even more so when I was growing up. The whole of Paraguay dances to the heartbeat of music, and it is inescapable. It surrounds you like a comforting blanket made of minims, crotchets and quavers.

Piano Man

When I was four years old I was introduced to the piano, which was purchased for my older sister to take piano lessons. From then on, I became fascinated by the instrument and would spend all of my time sitting at it trying to replicate the songs that my dad played on the record player. Before I knew it, I was playing all of the songs that I heard and was becoming more and more captured by it. My mother suggested that I should also take piano lessons, and that ultimately resulted in my first piano recital at the age of 6.

Traveling Musician

In 1989 I came to the USA to study English, and while here was awarded a scholarship in piano performance from the University of Kansas. Over the years, I have been fortunate to be able to perform for government officials, dignitaries, and friends and acquaintances; and at upscale hotels, fine restaurants, country clubs, private parties, and my special favorite, senior citizen centers. I would like to now perform for you a selection of the many songs from my repertoire, also available in the CDs on this website.
